Students at Terra Ceia Christian School are invited to participate in America’s Battle of the Books Competition.
In order to participate, students need to commit to reading 10-12 books from an assigned list. Bi-monthly meetings take place during non-educational school hours (i.e. lunch, recess) and students are required to memorize authors, titles, and content. Discipline in reading books as well as being a team player are a must.
There is a competition held each Spring and is open to elementary (3rd-5th) and middle school (6th-8th) students.
Reading is shown to improve vocabulary and correlates with higher standardized test scores. Participating in America’s Battle of the Books is an excellent co-curricular activity for our students.
